Description
The Tecnological Diploma in Music Production consists of a two-year professional training, proposed by Microfusa. At the end of which it is possible to complete a university degree (BA Hons)* in England, by entering the third year at one of our partner universities.
With this diploma you will master music production environments, starting with those based on personal computers, then progressing to larger format studios, geared towards professional recording, mixing and mastering. You will also develop your creative skills - through the composition of original musical repertoires - your organisational skills - to manage deadlines and schedule of a music production, and its subsequent release and dissemination - and your critical capacity through the analysis of the why and how of popular music production both in the present day and in its historical evolution, whether in its urban, electronic or pop and rock aspects.
MicroFusa is the most complete music production and sound training center in Spain, with over 30 years of experience, our center has up to seven fully equipped computer rooms with individual workstations based on the reliability of Apple systems, all with standard production software of the music industry (Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Native Instruments, Arturia, Waves, etc.) and MIDI controllers (Launchkey, Launchpad, Ableton Push, etc), nine professional recording studios, with both analog and digital equipment- mixing-consoles (SSL, Midas, Yamaha, Neumann, Shure, Blue, Avalon, TLA, etc), as well as the latest technology, synthesizers, for electronic music production (Moog, Pioneer, Novation, Roland, Korg, etc).
Get ready to make your musical projects a reality, from the composition of a repertoire to the mixing and mastering in large format studios, with the help of active professionals. In our facilities you will be able to produce your own songs as well as collaborate with external artists and work in our record label and live events production company, participating in the design of advertising campaigns and distribution strategies on the Internet and social networks.

Syllabus
In the first year, the knowledge and skills you acquire are oriented towards the use of digital technology for music creation in virtual and home studio environments, combined with contact with small-format recording studios. The objective is to acquire the necessary autonomy in the management of musical projects, both from a creative and technical point of view. The subjects taught are the following.
- Music production and composition.
- Musical theory.
- Production software. Ableton Live and Logic Pro.
- Music History.
- Spanish I.
- Projects; In each subject, various projects are developed, either individually or in groups, aimed at putting in practice lessons learned in each area. These projects will constitute the digital portfolio of each student.
School workstations and recording studios are available for students for self-study and practice of concepts and complete course assignments. The spaces offered are allocated according to the course requirements and development.
During the second year you will delve deeper into the applications and techniques of sound production by collaborating on real-world artistic projects. This collaboration ranges from participating in the creation of musical arrangements and the artistic direction of performers to making the most appropriate technical decisions during recording, mixing and mastering. The aim of all this is that you will produce music productions of different trends and in the context of professional recording studios. The second year concludes with the completion of a personal project in which you will have to put into practice the skills acquired, and with the expert guidance of a mentor from the centre. The selection of subjects taught is as follows:
- Studio Production techniques.
- Virtual production environments (Avid Pro Tools).
- Music theory II.
- Music Industry.
- Sound design and production.
- Spanish II.
- Final Project of the diploma. An individual project that summarizes the two years of the diploma and that integrates the creation of a repertoire, its live interpretation and the artistic management of said project.

Requirements
Academic- Recommended, Baccalaureate or equivalent A-levels studies. Students with inferior studies must organize an interview with the school director

In order to be able to access one of our partner universities and attain a University Degree the access requirements are; Baccalaureate (any modality), English language level IELTS certification with the cutoff score of 6 in speaking and writing. Lastly, not to forget the successful completion of all the Diploma subjects, in accordance with Microfusas requirements. All of these requirements must be met when registering at the university.
Materials
- The centre provides all the necessary materials for the course, as well as the availability of recording studios for the course studies and to work on projects, practice, and study.
Schedules
- Morning schedule: 08:30 am to 14:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- Afternoon schedule: 16:00 pm to 19:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and from 16:00 pm to 22:00 pm, one day per week
The Tecnological Diploma in music production is made up of approximately 2.000 hours distributed between theoretical classes, practices, assisted projects, self-study, and personal practices. The weekly classes are undertaken in the following way:
- Production/Sound – 6hours/weekly
- Specific software. (Ableton Live, Logic Pro and Avid Protools 101 and 110) - 3 hours per week.
- Music history, music production and music industry - 3 hours per week.
- Music theory - 3hours /weekly
- Spanish - 3hours /weekly

The methodology used in the course is based on a blended learning format, incorporating activities that evolve in our classrooms and recording studios, supported by our virtual campus. Said activities include collaborative practices, magisterial classes, discussion forums and group projects among others. The course content is available online, accessible 24 hours, on any electronic device (i.e. computer, tablet and mobile). The debate forums will stimulate critical thinking/analysis along with the exchange of ideas. The practices and projects objective is, learning by doing, and working in teams with other students. This is all closely overseen and led by our highly specialized educators, all of whom have extensive experience in the field.
